Latest Museum Acquisitions
A new Cranbrook Colony watercolour painting by F.D.Hardy (1827-1911).
It is titled "Grandfather Clock" and very likely depicts the interior of a home in Cranbrook
A silver collar stud dating from between 1625 and 1725 found by a metal detectorist near Goudhurst. The decoration of a flaming heart pierced by two arrows is thought to commemorate the marriage of Charles II and Catherine Braganza in 1662.
Also a 16th century silver gilt dress hook
These new treasures are all displayed in a new cabinet which was purchased with money from the Co-op community fund.
