ARE YOU HOME EDUCATING?
Cranbrook Museum is looking for ways in which we might be able to support you and your children’s interest/learning in History. We have a large collection of local history artefacts on display, an extensive archive relevant to the local area and hands-on boxes of artefacts relating to specific topics of interest. We can cover general interest or more detailed study.
A visit to the museum could be a walk round the exhibits, which includes a wide range of our local domestic, social, agricultural and cultural heritage. There is a study room of Cranbrook Colony Art, the Boyd Alexander 19th Century Bird Collection and information spanning the Stone Age to the Second World War.
Our study boxes currently include Stone Age tools, Romans, the History of Toys, Hop Picking, Broadcloth and the Medieval Weaving Industry and World War 2. We may be able to add to this on request. Study boxes are available for use in the Museum.
We can offer support for all age groups and abilities but ask you to accompany your child/children and provide your own agenda for their learning, unless previously discussed with Sue, our Education Manager.
Cranbrook Museum is open from Tuesday - Saturday from April 1st- October 31st 2.00-4.30
when you can visit without appointment.
If you would like to visit at another time, would like to use a study box or would like to speak to Sue
please contact us via the email address below.
